Scottish Recipes

This is the new Scotland recipe pages for this site. The recipes have been gathered from a variety of sources and it is the intention to update it on a regular basis. The old recipes can now be found on Ethnic meal ideas which has been showcasing Scottish recipes since 2003..

The pages show an ever expanding collection of all the old Scottish favourites from Shortbread to Scotch Broth plus (of course) numerous cakes, desserts and cocktails. Scotland has distinctive recipes of its own, but has gathered many of its recipes from far across the globe due to the high proportion of service abroad with the armed forces and immigration.

Scotland has an abundant natural larder of game, dairy and fish, with seasonal fruit and vegetables all combining to make traditional Scots cooking. The site has about 120 recipes and is growing all the time as Scottish food is as varied as the country itself.

As with all recipes which involve cooking and baking, a sensible approach must be taken especially when dealing with warm or hot (temperature) ingredients. All recipes are tried at your own risk.
