This is an image of an Abbot Self propelled gun, which is situated outside the visitor attraction "Scotland's secret bunker". Although similar in appearance to a tank, an Abbot gun is actually, as its name suggests, an indirect fire, artillery piece. The gun was was produced from 1964 thru 1967 and was in use at the height of the cold war.
Scotland's Secret Bunker is a former underground bunker which would have served as a regional headquarters during the Cold War, assuming the war had taken its ultimate course. Thankfully it was never put into operation. The museum has received very mixed reviews a flavour of which can be found here. The museum is located at Troywood, on the B940 between Anstruther and St Andrews. Full details can be found on the official website.
